Avoiding useless

Hadhrat Mawlana Mohammad Taqi Usmani (may Allah preserve him) instructed a spiritual aspirant,

“Avoid all useless activities. Everything that is permissible but does not have any benefit in this life or the life to come is useless. Contemplate before indulging in any activity whether this is useful for me or not. Be vigilant. Involvement in useless is a big obstacle in traversing the path (sulook).”

    Assalamu ‘alaykum,

    Jazak Allah. This is a very important aspect since it can eliminate many problems with a salik. Most of the sins are usually commited in pursuit of useless activities. May Allah save us from wasting our time and give us taufeeq to utilize it in such pursuits that are beneficial for our spiritual growth. Ameen.
