Yearning and desire

Sayyidi wa sanadi Hadhrat Mawlana Mohammad Taqi Usmani (may Allah preserve him) said,

“The most important thing [in this way (sulook)] is the yearning and desire (talub). Make effort to develop it. Your benefit is directly proportional to this yearning. Mawlana Rumi (may Allah have mercy on him) said this in couplet meaning,

Limit your search for water but increase your thirst.

True thirst will pull out the water from beneath your feet.”

Post Asr, 4th Rabi II 1411/24 October 1990.  Hadhrat’s residence, meeting with Baray Abbu (may Allah have mercy on him) & Abbu (may Allah preserve him)

The real task!

Sayyid wa sanadi Hadhrat Mawlana Mohammad Taqi Usmani (may Allah preserve him) said,

“The real task is to abstain from all sins!

“Most of the people select and perform the easy stuff. They initiate a relationship with a Shaykh, develop a routine of praying predawn prayers (tahajjud), perform excessive remembrance (dhikr), and recite Quran daily. However, they do not leave the sinful activities.

Remember this clearly, abundance of supererogatory (nafil) actions is of no advantage without abstaining from sinful activities. Whereas, persistence on the obligatory (fardh) and necessary (wajib) actions are quite enough without any extra (nafil) thing if one stays away from sins completely.”

Do not be angry!

In a special gathering where several senior deputies (khulafa) of  Masih al-quloob Hadhrat Mawlana Masihullah Khan (may Allah have mercy on him) were present an individual asked Hadhrat to name some of his special deputies.

In a powerful spiritual state Hadhrat replied, “I do not have any khulafa! Only those (of whom I have given ijaza) who do not become angry are my deputies.”

As reported by qutub e Makkah e mukarramah, Shaykh Dr. Hasan Imam (may Allah preserve him)

Sufi dhikr

Masih al-quloob Hadhrat Mawlana Masihullah Khan (may Allah have mercy on him) said,

“In addition the Shaykh instructs the disciple to perform remembrance (dhikr) in a special distinctive method. This (dhikr) creates the states of yearning and enthusiasm (to please Allah) in his heart.”

In Masjid al-Haram, Makkah e mukarramah sayyidi wa sanadi Hadhrat Mawlana Mohammad Taqi Usmani (may Allah preserve him) said,

“Two or three places in here are special for acceptance of supplication (dua). They include the Yemeni corner corner of Holy Ka’ba (rukn e yamani) and within hatim the hajr e Ismaeel, where according to one of the narrations Prophet Ismaeel (may Allah’s peace be on him) lies burried.”

After asr,12 Ramadan 1410/8th April 1990,

Keep yourself in constant close contact with Allah

Sayyidi wa sanadi Hadhrat Mawlana Mohammad Taqi Usmani (may Allah preserve him) said,
“Just try to keep yourself in constant close contact with Allah, Most High, all the time in whatever way possible.”

Further elucidating it he continued,
“It means that one should be conscious about his effort in this regards all the time. He should try his best irrespective of the quantity of actions completed or left undone. Most important thing to avoid, may Allah save us all from it, is being negligent (ghaflah).”
