Sultan al Arifeen Shaykh Bayazeed Bustami (Allah sanctify his secret) said,

For thirty years I prayed, O Allah do this & don’t do that.

However, when I reached the very first step of realization (marifet) I pleaded,

My Lord! Be mine & do as You wish.
