حضرت حکیم الامت مولانا اشرف علی تھانوی قدس اللہ سرہ
Arif billah Hadhrat Shah Hakim Mohammad Akhter sahib mudazillahu is in Medinah e munawwara these days.
He is one of the most senior shaykh of Ashrafiya silsila. He was in the company of Hadhrat Shah Abdul Ghani Phulpuri sahib for a long duration and has khilafat from Hadhrat Shah Abrarul Haqq sahib of Hardoi (khalifa of Hakim al-Umma) and Mawlana Mohammad Ahmad sahib of Partabgarh(khalifa in Mawlana FazalurRehman sahib Ganjmuradabadi’s silsila) (may Allah ahve mercy on them).
He will be there till June 7th, inshaAllah.
It is a great opportunity for those visiting the Haramain shareefain during this period. Hadhrat db usually goes to say salam at rawdha e mubarak around 9.00-9.30 AM. He is staying at Manazil e Harman, block 2.
A lot of his own khulafa and senior murid are accompanying him. MashaAllah!
May Allah SWT make us benefit from him a lot. Amin!
Some people brand the chishtiyya as being ahl-e-bid`ah (innovators in deen). In relation to this Hakimul-Ummah, Hazrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi (rahimahullah) comments:
“The reality of the matter is that the chistiyya have been very staunch adherents to the blessed sunnah. One of the incidents which demonstrates this fact is the incident of Hazrat Kabirul-Auliya Jalalud-Deen Panipati (rahimahullah). When Hazrat Jalalud-Deen became sick, he was bed-ridden and even sitting up was extremely difficult for him.
In this state, when his medicine was brought for him to take, he sat straight up (in spite of the hardship) and told his khadims to bring him down to the ground from the bed. The khuddam had no choice but to fulfil the Shaikh’s orders and they laid him down to the floor. Sitting on the floor, he took his medicine and then remarked: “As far as my knowledge is concerned, it is not established from the sunnah that Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) partook of any food, or medicine, on a bed.”
SubhanAllah, in spite of the fact, that this is permissible (for a sick and excused person) he still underwent extreme difficulty in order to fulfil the sunnah, and even abstain from doing such an act which has the possibility of not being a sunnah.
Can such personalities (who abstain from even the possibility of opposing the sunnah) be branded as innovators in deen? Unfortunately, the reality of the matter nowadays is that it has become the habit of people, that anyone who is not in accordance to “our” specific style and methodology, then he must be a bid`ati… This is absolutely wrong.”

Arif billah Hadhrat Dr Abdul Hayy Arifi (may Allah have mercy on him) instructed the seekers to supplicate the following after each salah,
اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّيْ عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ
(Allahumma a’inni ‘ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni ‘ibadatika)
O Allah! Assist me in remembering You, in thanking You, and in worshipping You in the best of manners.
This is gift of love. Presented by the Allah’s beloved to one on his blessed Companions.
One day he (Prophet Muhammad [Allah bless him and grant him peace]) took Mu’adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) by the hand and said, “O Mu’adh, by Allah (exalted is He) I love you, and I advise you, O Mu’adh, never forget to recite, after every prayer (the above).”
[Sahih Ahmad 5:245, Sahih abu Dawud 2:86, an-Nasa’i]
اللهم صل على
سيدنا و مولانا محمد و على ال سيدنا و مولانا محمد
صلوة دائمة مقبولة تؤدّى بها عنّا حقّه العظيم

This is the salutation & blessings recited by that girl, who spat in to the well so water rose up until it overflowed and spilled across the ground and Imam Jazuli (may Allah have mercy on him) made his ablution (wudhu).
A day before his death in the blessed Medinah, Arif billah Hadhrat Dr. Hafeezullah (may Allah have mercy on him) instructed his son,
“An individual’s aversion for sin should be similar to his innate repugnance to filth.”

Hadhrat Sufi Mohammad Sarwar sahib (may Allah preserve him) is an outstanding senior Shaykh in Ashrafiya path. He has khilafat from Hadhrat Mufti Mohammad Hasan, Master Sharif and Mawlana Masihullah Khan sahib (may Allah have mercy on them all).
Following site has his biography, lectures and some very beneficial books;
Hakim al-Umma Hadhrat Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanwi (may Allah have mercy on him) would say that if a person is not willing to utilise his will power then not even a Prophet can save him from committing sin.

Serenity of heart (jamiat e qalb) is very much valued thing in this path. Try your best to safe guard it. Anything; an article or a comment, an image, a thought or speech if it disturbs your heart’s serenity it is detrimental for your sulook.
The seeker must show his hidden diseases to the Shaykh, and disclose to him their reality so that he can cure them.
If the seeker has diseases and does not show them, openly or secretly, to his Shaykh, then the latter will not cure him of these diseases, even if he is aware of them. The reason for this is that a physician only treats about which the patient complains.
Having said that, none of the defects of the seeker is lost on the Shaykh, even though he only treats that which the seeker reveals.

This is one of the reasons why regular communication with the Shaykh is essential. The seeker informs him of the various real life incidents and scenarios where a moral disease is suspected to have played a role. Shaykh then makes the diagnosis and prescribes a treatment. This is the reality of the written self-reformation correspondence (islahi makatabet) between the murid and the Shaykh is Ashrafiya path.
Hakim al-Umma Hadhrat Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanawi (may Allah have mercy on him) advised a seeker,
“Keep busy (in what has been instructed to you). A person who is walking on the correct path for sure reaches the destination.”

A spiritual aspirant wrote that,
“I wish I do not miss my wird any day. However, sometimes due to unavoidable circumstance it is missed.”
Hakim al-Umma Hadhrat Mawlana Ashraf ‘Ali Than (may Allah have mercy on him) replied,
“Do not worry. There is Divine wisdom in this also. It shows one’s limitation. And is a blockade for prideful claims and cure of self praise. However, try your best not to be lazy and make up for the missed wird. If not complete, incomplete will suffice.”
